Around the year 1900 chemist and highly successful industrial leader Ernst Harbeck Jr. ordered this stone set-piece intended to depict a medieval German castle ruin on the Kyrkåsberget mountain. He wanted the piece to look like a Rhine castle so that his homesick German wife could sit there and look out over the “Rhine valley”. A short stone’s throw away he built the Porthälla Manor, a grand 14-room residence ready in 1918. (Text from urminnes.blogpost.com)
