This is where the old narrow gauge Västgötabanan (VGJ) went. Many of the villages on the line grew up around the stationhouses. Today you can walk or cycle along Lake Mjörn from Gråbo to Sjövik. There are several sites worth seeing along the embankment. Including a stairway that leads through a gate up to a large concrete area with a fine view.
The Strandkullen promenade on the way to Björboholm is another pleasant detour from the asphalt road. This was once the site of a dancing hall that drew people from both Alingsås and Göteborg with either steamboat or train. Closer to Sjövik there is a 139-meter long tunnel through a prominent ridge.
