The Hästebräcka road ramp lies between Kärrbogärde and Tollered.
In 1848 the main road between Göteborg and Stockholm was moved so as to go over V Bodarna and Norsesund down to Hede in Lerum where it joined the old main road again. This was done to avoid the troublesome hästbräcka or horse breaker where the farmers were forced to ask for help both up and down. However, this rerouting had a short life since 1856 saw the start of building the railroad between Göteborg and Stockholm. It was completed in 1862 and the farmers were forced to go back to the old road. This is when the ramp was built.
The ramp is 300 meters long and 5-6 meters tall with a width of about 10 alns or 6 meters, which was standard for public country roads at the time. Today it is rather overgrown and only few have seen it.
Coming from Ingared take the Kärrbogärdevägen to E20. Just before E20 there is a parking lot on the right. (57°50’27.3″N 12°27’10.1″E)
