The S/S Herbert is a towboat built in 1905. It comes from an epoch when the waterways were used to transport timber and pulpwood. With its well-preserved original engine she represents a very interesting piece of historical technology. S/S Herbert is now classed as a traditional ship by the Swedish National Maritime Museums. During the summer she transports tourists and others on Lake Mjörn from her home port in Alingsås.
The Mjörn Steamship Association isa not-for-profit association whose purpose is to keep the tradition of steamship traffic on Lake Mjörn alive
